The new state-of-the-art Charlie Kellogg and Joe Zaher Sports complex is set on approximately 110 acres in the northwest part of the Las Vegas valley. The expansive regional park has 11 lighted soccer fields - seven are artificial grass and four are natural turf. It features a three-cell “dogs only” area, children’s play areas, shaded picnic shelters and a large walking/jogging path that surrounds the entire park. The complex is also home to the Amanda and Stacy Darling Memorial Tennis Center, the largest of its kind in the state of Nevada. It includes 23 tennis courts, including one main court with stadium seating for approximately 2800 spectators, a small pro shop, locker rooms and office space. The sports complex will be a huge draw for large tennis and soccer tournaments and is a wonderful addition to the surrounding area.

Freedom park closed on Sept. 2 for a complete renovation. The little league fields on the northeast side of the park will remain open, as well as the Carlos L. Martinez and Darrio J. Hall Family Pool at Freedom Park. Construction is expected to last 18 months.

This 40,500-square-foot facility, designed to reflect the Latino heritage of the surrounding area, is shared by the Arts & Community Events Division and the Senior Citizen Programs Division. The center, located on the southeast corner of Eastern and Stewart Avenue, was constructed on the site of Las Vegas’ former armory.

Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza is an outdoor theatre located on the west side of Lorenzi Park, West Washington Avenue between Rancho Drive and Valley View Boulevard. The theatre is programmed by ArtReach Unit staff, who also provide programs in other city of Las Vegas park locations.
