Mayor Oscar B. Goodman To Attend Prestigious Mayors’ Institute On City Design
Sponsored By United States Conference Of Mayors, National Endowment For The Arts And American Architectural Foundation

Mayor Oscar B. Goodman will be attending the 44th national session of the Mayors’ Institute on City Design in Denver, Colo. beginning today through July 24. Denver Mayor John W. Hickenlooper will be hosting the event.

The Mayors’ Institute on City Design is a program sponsored jointly by the National Endowment for the Arts, The United States Conference of Mayors and the American Architectural Foundation. It is a small, closed-door, two-and-a-half day symposium intended to offer the invited mayors a better understanding of the design of cities. Eight mayors and eight design professionals are invited to each institute. In this setting, the opportunity to learn how to approach some of the challenges confronting today’s cities will be discussed in the perspective of urban design.

Since the institute’s inception in 1986, more than 775 mayors have participated, including six governors, six members of the United States Congress and 19 current members of the United States Conference of Mayors’ Executive Committee. All expenses are paid by the Mayors’ Institute. For further information on the Mayors’ Institute on City Design, please visit www.micd.org.
