Councilman Larry Brown

Larry Brown was elected to the office of Councilman, Ward 4, on June 3, 1997.
Councilman Brown was the director of Public Services for the Las Vegas Valley Water District before he was elected to the City Council. His many years of experience in government are evident in his representation on the Regional Transportation Commission, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, and the Regional Flood Control District, which he currently serves as Chairman.
Brown received his bachelor's degree in Government from Harvard University. In November of 1999, he was inducted into the Harvard Athletic Hall of Fame for his collegiate career in football and baseball. Brown was a professional baseball player, playing his final years with the hometown "Las Vegas Stars."
Councilman Brown is married to Celeste and they have three children. He is an active member of many civic and charitable organizations. He is involved in youth sports, is a strong advocate for parks and open spaces, and is passionate about preserving the quality of life in Las Vegas.
