New Traffic Signals On Washington Avenue And J Street Go Into Service This Thursday

New traffic signals at the Washington Avenue and J Street intersection are scheduled to be put into service on Thursday, March 27, at 9 a.m.

City of Las Vegas traffic crews plan to assist Ward 5 Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow and students from the nearby Wendell Williams Elementary School to put the new traffic lights into full green-amber-red operation.

The signals will enhance public safety for motorists and pedestrians, and will improve traffic flow during the morning and afternoon peak traffic hours for nearby schools.

The signals mark the first new set of traffic lights to be installed in Las Vegas city limits this year.  Motorists are advised to proceed with caution as they become familiar with the newly signalized intersection.
