Summerlin Parkway Rehabilitation Project Continues
Paving Project To Add Third Westbound Travel Lane From U.S. 95 To Buffalo Drive

The rehabilitation project on Summerlin Parkway continues, and temporary traffic lane restrictions and temporary ramp closures can be expected as crews work to repave Summerlin Parkway from U.S. 95 near Rainbow Boulevard west to the 215 Beltway. In addition to removing and replacing the pavement on Summerlin Parkway, a much-needed third westbound travel lane will be added from U.S.95 to Buffalo Drive to improve traffic flow.

The first phase of the project was completed at 8 p.m. on May 22. At that time crews demobilized, and there will be no construction activities for the next five days in order to accommodate the holiday weekend. All lanes and ramps will be open through 7 p.m., Tuesday May 27.

Once work resumes on the Summerlin Parkway project, traffic lane restrictions will be in effect in work zones as follows:

·         7 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 through 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 28: Westbound Summerlin Parkway will be reduced to one lane of travel from Buffalo to Town Center. No access ramps will be affected during this phase of work.

·         8 p.m. Wednesday, May 28 through 8 p.m. Thursday, May 29: Summerlin Parkway will narrow to one travel lane in each direction between the 215 Beltway and Town Center. No access ramps will be affected during this work phase.

·         Friday, May 30, through Sunday, June 1:  The activities for these dates are currently under review.

This improvement project is being managed by the city of Las Vegas Department of Field Operations. Southern Nevada Paving is the contractor. The construction activities should be completed no later than Sunday, June 1, although minor close-out activities may occur the following week.
