City Of Las Vegas Continues Senior Outreach Efforts
City Provides Opportunities For Seniors To Live Active And Healthy Lifestyles

Seniors at the Levy Gardens and Louise Shell senior apartments are visiting Mount Charleston on Thursday, July 24, as part of the city of Las Vegas Senior Citizen Outreach Program.

The program provides opportunities for seniors to get out of their homes and participate in activities. Thursday’s visit to Mount Charleston will include lunch and bingo at the Mount Charleston Lodge with Ward 5 Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow.

“Our seniors are an important part of our community, and we want to encourage them to stay active,” Councilman Barlow said. “Seniors who remain socially and physically active tend to live longer, healthier lives.”

Seniors at Levy Gardens, located at 2525 W. Washington Ave., are scheduled to board buses for the trip to Mount Charleston at 8 a.m. The buses will then stop to pick up additional seniors at the Louise Shell Senior Apartments, located at 2101 N. Martin Luther King Blvd.

The city of Las Vegas has several opportunities and programs for seniors. For more information regarding these programs residents can contact Maria Castillo-Couch at 229-6681.
