Cause of fire: Arson, under investigation

Damage estimate: $50,000.            Description of damage:  Mattress fire, fire damage confined to living room, smoke damage throughout vacant unit.

General information about the incident:  Multiple calls that black smoke was coming from a vacant townhouse in the complex. Firefighters found that it appeared that someone had forced entry into the unit. Fire was quickly extinguished and confined. Fire investigators have ruled it arson. Fire investigators believe the unit may have been used for homeless or juveniles to hang out. Witnesses told investigators that juveniles were seen leaving the area just prior to the fire. The incident remains under investigation. There were no injuries.
