The city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services is offering men’s evening basketball leagues that start Sept. 8, 9 and 10 at the Minker Sports Complex, located at 275 N. Mojave Road. Open to teams of men 17 and older, the leagues will offer an eight-week regular season plus a single-elimination tournament. The recreational and fun B Division will play Mondays and Tuesdays, each with game times at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. The ultra-competitive A Division teams will play on Wednesdays. A Division teams need to have experience playing at the highest level.
Registration will be open through Sept. 4, priced at $225 per team plus $25 per game officials’ fees. Paid registrations will be accepted in the order received. A maximum of seven teams will be accepted for each league. A minimum of five and maximum of 12 players will be permitted on each team roster. Team members are required to wear rubber-soled gym shoes and matching shirts with player numbers during league play. Winning teams will receive awards and discounts for the next scheduled league at Minker Sports Complex. Call 229-6563 for more information and to register.
The Minker Sports Complex regularly offers adult basketball, racquetball and volleyball league play for men and women. The center offers a variety of fitness classes, including Pilates, power yoga, yin yoga, Zumba and more, as well as shotokan and tae kwon do martial arts classes for ages 5 to adult. Advance registration is not required for fitness classes. The Minker Sports Complex includes a full gymnasium, racquetball/wallyball courts, aerobics/dance studio, cardio/weight room, outdoor walk/jog path, lockers and showers. Fitness facilities include stationary upright and recumbent bicycles, treadmills, Stairmasters, upper body Ergo-meter, Concept 2 rower, free weights and dry sauna.
