World Hoop Day To Raise Hoopla About Community Peace In Las Vegas

 

The city of Las Vegas plans to raise hoopla about community peace at a World Hoop Day celebration on Friday, Aug. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fremont Middle School, located at 1100 E. St. Louis Ave. Everyone is invited. The free event is scheduled to coincide with the World Hoop Day celebration held internationally to promote world peace. Participants will be treated to Hula Hoops, popcorn, cotton candy, freeze pops and drinks while supplies last.  There will be information about world/community peace and other activities such as juggling, mural painting and more. This event is a partnership between Fremont Middle School, the city of Las Vegas Batteries Included youth initiative and community partners including: Safe Nest, The Boys and Girls Club of Southern Nevada, the Nevada Youth Alliance, Operation Lasting Peace, the Southern Nevada Community Gang Task Force, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Goshen Community Coalition, Silver State Jr. Civitan Club, Univision Radio and many more exhibitors that promote peace or help young people in our community.
