General information about the incident:   Fire dispatchers received multiple calls that a house was on fire in a subdivision across the street from Fire Station 3. Firefighters were on the scene in just a few minutes, heavy fire and smoke was showing from the second floor of the house on arrival. At 2:18 a.m. firefighters had a knockdown on the fire. Fire heavily damaged the second floor, attic area and roof of the vacant house. Fire investigators ruled the fire arson. This is the second time in less than a month the house was broken into and set on fire.  The other fire occurred on Aug. 14 at 1:30 a.m. There was very little damage associated with that fire which was confined to the living room on the first floor. The house was secured and broken into. A security guard on duty in the subdivision told investigators the house was checked within the hour and everything seemed fine. Neighbors told fire investigators that the house has been vacant for approximately two years. The incident remains under investigation. There were no injuries.
