Between the hours of 10 a.m. and noon, tomorrow, Sept. 24, Harris Avenue will be closed to traffic, between Pecos Road and Parkhurst Street. The two-hour closure is necessary as city of Las Vegas traffic crews continue work to install a traffic signal at the Pecos and Harris intersection.
While the temporary closure is in effect, traffic will be detoured to Washington Avenue and Bonanza Road. Nearby Desert Pines High School will be accessible via Sandhill Road. This section of Harris will reopen to full access by noon, although work will continue until approximately 3 p.m.
The traffic signal installation project is slated for completion in late October.
