Traffic Signals At Two Busy Las Vegas Intersections Are Out Of Service Due To Traffic Accidents
Emergency Repairs Are Underway By City Traffic Crews
|
| |
|
Traffic signals in the area of Interstate 15 and Sahara Avenue, and at the Cheyenne Avenue and Cimarron Road intersection, are out of service. Both signal outages are due to traffic accidents that occurred earlier today.
The traffic signal at the I-15 exit ramp to Sahara is dark, as is the signal at Sahara that provides access to I-15 northbound. The signals for east and westbound travel on Sahara at I-15 are also out of service. Stop signs are in place. City of Las Vegas traffic crews are making repairs and expect to restore the signals to service by approximately 8 p.m.
Further north, the traffic signal at the Cheyenne and Cimarron intersection is out of service. City traffic crews expect to restore this signal to full service by 6 p.m.
Traffic delays can be expected in these heavily-traveled areas, especially on Sahara Avenue. Use of alternate routes is recommended. Motorists should proceed with caution through the intersections that should be treated as all way stops.
