Mesquite Avenue from Las Vegas Boulevard to Seventh Street will close beginning Monday, April 30, in preparation for the rodeos, carnival, exhibits and food vendors that are part of the annual Las Vegas Helldorado Days celebration.
In addition, Sixth and Seventh streets will close Monday from Mesquite to Stewart Avenue. On Thursday, May 17, Stewart Avenue will close from Las Vegas Boulevard to Seventh Street from 4 p.m. to the early morning hours of Friday, May 18. Then on Friday, May 18, Stewart will again be closed from Las Vegas Boulevard to Seventh Street from 4 p.m. until the early morning hours of Monday, May 21.
Motorists can expect portions of Mesquite, Sixth and Seventh streets to remain closed into the week of May 21 as the rodeo grounds are cleaned up.
Helldorado Days will be celebrated downtown May 17-20 at the downtown rodeo grounds, located from Las Vegas Boulevard east to Seventh Street and from Stewart Avenue north to Mesquite Avenue. The Helldorado parade is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 19. It will progress north on Fourth Street, which will be closed to traffic from Charleston Boulevard to Stewart Avenue beginning at 2 p.m. on May 19.
