The Las Vegas City Council will recognize Celebrity Chef Wolfgang Puck at the Wednesday, Dec. 5, City Council meeting that will begin following the 8:30 a.m. Redevelopment Agency meeting in City Hall council chambers, located at 495 S. Main St.
Councilwoman Lois Tarkanian will recognize Chef Puck for his pioneering work with Las Vegas restaurants and his impact on the community.
In addition, Councilman Bob Coffin will recognize former UNLV golfer Ryan Moore. In October Moore won the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas to claim his second PGA Tour title.
Councilwoman Tarkanian will also recognize the 50th anniversary of the Celebrity City Chorus. The chorus is a group of local female singers, who are scheduled to perform a number at the council meeting.
Councilman Steven D. Ross will recognize Tim and Connie Sattler as the December Citizens of the Month. The couple took a cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) class at the Centennial Hills Active Adult Center, and then later used what they had learned to help a man having a heart attack.
The City Council will also be joined by a representative of the Internal Revenue Service who will thank the city for its efforts in helping to provide free tax preparation for low-income families.
Finally, the City Council will recognize a group of city employees who have done an outstanding job with the city’s Safekey program.
