Starting today and continuing through March 29, 2013, crews will be working to improve roadways and sidewalk ramps in the Fremont Estates residential subdivision located at the southeast corner of Michael Way and Washington Avenue. The roads to be improved are Garrison, Huntington, and McDermit streets and Overland and Washoe avenues. See the map
for roadways to be improved.
The first two weeks of the project will be spent constructing sidewalk ramps, followed by a second two-week period to allow the Las Vegas Valley Water District to perform valve inspections prior to roadwork activities. The remainder of the time will be used to remove the deteriorating pavement and replace it with a new 3-inch pavement layer. Final utility adjustment activities will fall at the end of the work activities.
Residents will have full access to homes during this period; however, there will be limited or no parking on the streets during the work activities.
Las Vegas Paving Corporation is the contractor, and city of Las Vegas Department of Operations and Maintenance personnel are managing the project. Funding for the $250,000 estimated cost for this project is provided by the city of Las Vegas.
