On Wednesday, Feb. 6, crews will be patching large sections of Gass Avenue in downtown Las Vegas to address advanced pavement deterioration associated with increased bus traffic. These are intended to be temporary measures to address the most deteriorated sections of pavement, pending future implementation of a reconstruction project.
The first patch will be 13’ wide by 43’ long, and will be in the eastbound travel lane on Gass, west of the intersection with Las Vegas Boulevard. East and west bound travel lanes will be shifted and maintained during these activities.
The second patch will be at the intersection of Third Street and Gass, and the full intersection will be reconstructed. Traffic will be closed on Third Street, but work will be done in half street sections so that east and west bound travel lanes can be maintained.
Motorists are urged to avoid these locations.
Drew Asphalt is the contractor. City of Las Vegas Department of Operations and Maintenance personnel are overseeing the work. Funding for this project is provided by the city of Las Vegas.
