The City Council will recognize Irish American Heritage Month at the Wednesday, March 6, City Council will begin at 9 a.m. in City Hall council chambers, located at 495 S. Main St.

Honorary Consul of Ireland for Nevada Terry Murphy will be at the council meeting to accept a proclamation from the mayor to recognize Irish American Heritage Month. The Sharon Lynn Academy of Irish Dance will also perform during the ceremonial portion of the meeting.

Councilwoman Lois Tarkanian and Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow will recognize Barry’s Boxing Gym for community involvement.

In addition, the City Council will recognize the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 14 as the March Citizens of the Month.

Finally, the City Council will recognize the city’s Art & Design team for its creative work supporting city communications. Employee teams receiving this honor demonstrate a commitment to the city’s organizational values.
