Now through May 24, city crews will be working on median island improvements on Washington Avenue, between Las Vegas Boulevard and Bruce Street. The improvements will consist of grading, adding decorative rock and installation of metal structures representing local flora and fauna.
Work activities will be on Tuesdays through Fridays, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. During work hours, the inside lanes in both directions will be closed to traffic.
Bonanza Road and Owens Avenue are recommended as alternative routes.
City staff fabricated most of the metal structures and are performing the grading, installation and other construction activities. Funding for this project is provided by the city of Las Vegas.
