The city of Las Vegas is partnering with the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District to offer youth ages 13-18 free training in digital media arts July 15-17 at the Stupak Community Center, located at 251 W. Boston Ave. Youth will participate in hands-on workshops in movie making, graphic design and music creation from 1 to 4 p.m. each day. The training is free, but advance registration is required. The program is funded by a grant from the MacArthur Foundation and the Institute for Museum and Library Services. The city of Las Vegas, Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, PwC Charitable Foundation, Best Buy, and the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District Foundation also are contributing resources.
This youth initiative is part of the Vegas Valley Youth Digital Learning Labs project that aims to design a distributed network of digital learning opportunities for youth.
