As downtown Las Vegas continues its renaissance, the city of Las Vegas strives to make sure that the area continues to be a place where tourists and residents want to visit. Residents and visitors are invited to visit www.yourvoicevegas.com to answer some simple questions regarding visiting downtown. The first has to do with safety. Additional questions include what, if any, key issues impact your willingness to visit downtown and which, if any, of a list of possible choices that if implemented would help make the downtown safer.
“We want to hear from the residents of Las Vegas about how they feel about downtown and what we can do to make it even better,” said City Manager Elizabeth N. Fretwell. “Your Voice Vegas allows another way for us to hear from the public as the City Council makes decisions about what our focus should be.”
Launched in December 2012, YourVoiceVegas is an online website forum that allows residents to interact with city leaders 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Sign-up is easy, allowing for registration on the site itself or via an existing Facebook, LinkedIn or Google account. Once registered, users can submit original ideas, refine ideas that the city might put forth, second a neighbor’s idea or participate in a survey or poll.
As an incentive, those who participate will accrue points based on their level of participation and be eligible for a number of rewards. Some of the rewards include free tickets to the Mob Museum as well as passes for the city’s fitness centers.
