The Dula Gymnasium is offering a basketball skills class and sports leagues for youth ages 4-10 this fall. Beginners in basketball or soccer will have a league of their own to learn the fundamentals of the game while playing games. A parent workshop will be provided for parent coaches.
Youth ages 4-6 will learn the fundamentals of basketball from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturdays; the cost to enroll is $15. The basketball league for ages 7-10 will begin at noon; the cost to register is $50. Soccer players ages 4-6 will play 3 vs. 3 starting at 10 a.m.; the cost to register is $50. Leagues and classes begin Saturday, Sept. 28. Dula Gym also is offering martial arts classes taught by former freestyle martial arts world champion Kraiguar Smith, beginning Sept. 10. In 2004, Senior Grandmaster Smith was inducted into the Martial Arts Masters Hall of Fame. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with beginners ages 4 and older at 6:30 p.m. and a combined class of beginners and intermediate ages 7 and older at 7:30 p.m. The cost is $20 per month. Dula Gymnasium is a city of Las Vegas sports facility. The gym is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; closed Sundays. The Dula Gym offers table tennis, paddle tennis, pickle ball, volleyball, fitness training, youth and adult basketball leagues, open basketball, youth sports instruction classes and a Batteries Included Youth Council.
