Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman, Councilman Bob Coffin and Julie Murray, principal of the Moonridge Group, will unveil a new Donation Station meter at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at City Hall, 495 S. Main St.
The meter is the first Donation Station to be a part of the city’s new $1,000 sponsorship program. Money collected by the meter goes toward regional homeless services. Launched in 2010, the program has raised more than $10,000.
Companies, organizations or individuals can sponsor a meter for a $1,000 annual fee. The sponsored meter will be wrapped in the organization’s logo and the city will provide maintenance and collection services.
The new meter will be unveiled on the steps in front of City Hall, and then be installed across Main Street near the front of the City Hall Garage, 500 S. Main St.
The Moonridge Group Philanthropy Advisors assists individual, foundations, corporations and nonprofits in developing and executing their charitable investments.
