More than 2,000 homeless or those on the verge of homelessness were served by hundreds of volunteers and providers at Project Homeless Connect on Oct. 8. The event is held twice a year to make it easier for those struggling with keeping a roof over their heads get information and services they need to help them back on their feet. Project Homeless Connect is part of Southern Nevada's regionally coordinated effort between the city of Las Vegas, Clark County and the cities of Boulder, Henderson and North Las Vegas to help individuals and families. The city’s EVOLVE team was on hand to provide employment services to more than 70 ex-offenders. Participants received supplies, grooming, dental and health services and much more. Questionnaires gave participants the opportunity to give feedback on the event to help come up with ways to better address their issues in the future.
