A new 7.3 acre park near the 215 at West Gilmore and Cliff Shadows Parkway will open late this year. The City Council voted that the name of the park will be Trigono Hills Park.

After taking feedback from residents, a special name has been chosen. The park is shaped like a triangle and, knowing Ward 4 Councilman Stavros Anthony's Greek ancestry, a resident suggested the name Trigono, which means triangle in Greek. "It is pretty cool and different," Councilman Anthony said at the Jan. 16 City Council meeting.

Councilman Anthony and his team look forward to hosting special events there like Movies in the Park.

The park will feature:

  • Interpretive garden
  • Natural grass play areas
  • Shaded kinetic play zone for kids ages 5-12
  • Shaded playground for kids ages 2-5
  • Large, medium and small picnic areas
  • Lighted walking paths
